BEHIND THE SCENE: Central Park is one of the most touristed locations in one of the world’s most recognizable cities. Always striving to distill my subject’s true essence in a fashion that’s both unique and captivating, I set out looking to find my vision for this iconic place. I spent a couple of days wondering around the park looking to find the perfect area to capture the unique character of Central Park in the Spring. When I turned the corner and saw Poet’s Lane, I knew I had found what I was looking for. Also aptly called the Literary Mall, this rare straight pedestrian path in Central Park features tributes to prominent writers and a cathedral-like canopy of fabulous American Elms. On this particular morning, the air was calm and cool. The sun was just peaking above the horizon creating a beautiful, soft light. The area was nearly deserted, sans a few cyclists and pedestrians. I set up my gear and as I pressed the shutter, I could just feel the magic of this timeless capture.
