The light, shadows and colors change throughout the day, conjuring up a veritable kaleidoscope of nature. For those unfamiliar, Antelope is a slot canyon in Arizona that was formed by flash floods occurring during repeated monsoon rains. As the water and sand repeatedly rushed into the canyon, over time passageways were created, through erosion and smoothing, eventually forming these amazing flowing shapes in the rock. I only had one day to shoot the canyon so I had precious little time to get it right. Patiently I waited until the cascading diffused light began to stream into the canyon. Finally, when the canyon walls were most beautifully illuminated, I took the shot. The combination of these crystals along with special coatings yields a paper that generates a unique three-dimensional depth and a wide tonal range, producing prints with a rich textured quality. Have confidence in knowing the inks and papers used to create these works of fine art have been carefully selected to ensure your investment will be enjoyed for generations. LIMITED EDITION PRINT SIZES: Print sizes (16”x24”, 20”x30”, 24”x36” and 30"x45") are in edition sizes of 25. As editions cross milestones, prices will increase. Once an edition closes, no further printing of that size will be made available nor will new sizes be introduced.

As the sun’s rays reflected off the loose sand, the laser-like shaft of light made for a stunning composition. BEHIND THE SCENE: I traveled to Jordan for the once in a lifetime opportunity to photograph the Rose City, Petra, a honeycomb of hand-hewn temples from pink sandstone dating back around 2,000 years. Literally carved into the rock face, the Treasury is one of the most amazing structures you can imagine, particularly knowing that such architectural magic was achieved by chiseling from the top down. After a 3-hour drive from Amman, we arrived late in the morning. I knew the sandstone would dramatically change colors later in the afternoon so I waited patiently and setup my tripod in a location I thought would best capture this fabulous structure. As the sun finally sank lower in the sky, the sandstone’s color gradually became more saturated and beautiful. Something was still missing though. I needed something or someone in the composition to provide a better sense of scale. Seemingly out of nowhere, this guard entered my frame and I knew I had my shot. I’m incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to yet another one of the & New Wonders of the World.
