Egypt

In Egyptian culture, honor is one of the most important facets of interpersonal relationships. Respect for people is both a right and an obligation, and an individual’s honor is intricately interwoven with the reputation and honor of everyone else in his or her family. It also dictates that people dress as well as their financial circumstances allow and show proper respect and deference to their elders and those in authority. Although it may be difficult to remain respectful in the heat of a disagreement, Egyptians know that no argument is worth forgoing a respectful disposition.
